Privacy Policy

MyWalk ("the app") is a daily walk-tracking app for iOS. This policy explains how your data is handled. We keep things simple: we collect nothing. MyWalk has no backend, no accounts and no analytics — there is no mechanism by which your data could reach us, and we never receive any of it.

Everything below describes what the app stores on your own device and why, so you can see exactly what it does. None of it is transmitted to us or to anyone else.

What the app stores on your device

On-device (never leaves your iPhone, and never reaches us)

• Walk records — routes, distance, duration, steps, calories, elevation, pauses, and any waypoints you add. Stored locally in the app's own database.
• Walk names — optional names you give walks (for example "Finsbury Park Lake"). Stored locally.

Apple Health (HealthKit)

• With your permission, the app reads step count and walking/running distance from Apple Health to show your activity.
• With your permission, the app writes completed walks (workout, distance, active energy) to Apple Health so they appear in the Fitness app.
• You control this entirely in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health. Revoking access stops all HealthKit reads and writes.

Location

• The app uses your location while tracking a walk to record your route. "Always" permission lets tracking continue when the screen is off or the app is in the background, so a walk is not cut short when your phone is in your pocket.
• Location data is used only to draw your route and compute distance. It is stored on-device and is not uploaded anywhere.

Motion (pedometer)

• The app uses the device pedometer to count steps. This is processed on-device.

What we do not do

• No accounts. You do not sign up or log in.
• No cloud sync, and no server at all. MyWalk has no backend — there is no server we operate, so there is nowhere for your walks to be uploaded to. Everything stays on your device.
• No advertising and no third-party trackers.
• No analytics SDKs.
• No data collected at all. We collect nothing about you — no personal data, no usage data, no identifiers. There is nothing for us to sell or share, because we never receive anything in the first place.

Purchases

MyWalk Pro is a one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment details. Apple's handling of that transaction is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

Data retention and deletion

• Walk data stays on your device until you delete it — swipe left on a walk in the History tab.
• Deleting the app removes all locally stored walk data.
• Health data the app has written can be removed via the Health app.

Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be noted in the app.
